A mini documentary

The awareness this month is on the abilities of those born with Down Syndrome, not their disabilities. I really wish that we could inject a little of that extra chromosome into more people on this earth. Could you imagine how wonderful of a world that would be?

More alike than different

This month is Down Syndrome Awareness month. I volunteer and am on one of the committees for Heartstrings Community Foundation. This is an organization that employees developmentally disabled adults and gives everyone the opportunity that they deserve. I have become very close to a lot of the people that work at Heartstrings and they constantly amaze me with their generosity and friendship. I feel extremely lucky to have them in my life. A few of my friends at Heartstrings were blessed with a little something extra and this is the month to be aware that we are more alike than different.

This recent photo session played havoc on my "baby clock". I'm pretty sure that you can hear it ticking from your house right now. Listen closely... Yes that is me.

Madison's 11th Birthday

How is she 11?? Madison recently had her 11th birthday party. Of course it was a Twilight theme because she..ahem.. loves Edward. Just so that everyone knows there are NO Twilight cake decorations (or at least I couldn't find them) so I improvised. I don't think that I will be getting a job at a cake shop anytime soon, but she liked it and that is all that matters.

Please notice the use of cell phones in the picture. One friend has the right side angle taking a video with her phone while Maddie gets a video of herself blowing out the candles on hers. What you don't see is one of the other little girls getting a video from the other side of the table. I couldn't help but laugh as I was taking the pictures. Oh to be 11 again....

Madison's first day of school

Madison started 5th grade last week! I can't believe that she will be starting Junior High next year... Where in the heck has the time went? I came into her life when she was 6 and starting 1st grade and that seems like yesterday. I can't wait to see what this year brings......

My sister's family

I went home to visit my family last weekend and during my visit we did a little photo shoot. After we took the family picture we went downtown to do the kids individual shots. These are just a few of the images that I captured. Aren't they cute??

The last of my baby cousins got married this weekend. I wish him a world of joy and happiness!
