Jealousy, envy and prayer

Jealousy, envy and prayer...I have found myself praying a lot lately for a couple of the people in my life that I love and for myself. This is not a bad thing however I think that feeling sorry for myself is. I can't elaborate on things going on in my life right now for privacy issues however there is something. Due to the fact that I can't talk about it I'm sure that this post will be as clear as mud so I apologize ahead of time.

As I internalize, pray and ask for guidance through this thing in my life I find myself envious and jealous of others. I see others that have what I have always desired, those who seem to be living the dream. I know...the grass is always greener but it is tough to get past that stupid saying. Don't get me wrong, I love my life and I am thankful. I also love going to church on Sunday and the feeling that it brings to my soul, but lately I have been fighting back the tears during mass. It is strange but the last few sermons seem to be about me...Is God talking to me through Father? So I pray...

I don't ask a lot of the people in my life.. I never have.  I don't want to be selfish, so the majority of my praying is going towards the others affected by this thing.. because they mean the world to me and their happiness means more to me than myself. However I am reaching out to you now. I am asking whoever reads this blog to pray for me and my family. God knows the details....

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid...for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

All American Celebration/ Heartstrings Community Foundation

The organization that I work with had their All American Celebration on Wednesday. It was hot, but we all still a great time. Truman the Tiger was there for MU and Baby Jay was there for the chicken hawks KU to celebrate with us. Oh and my friend Tyler had a great time flirting with one of the Chiefs cheerleaders, (I teased him for quite a bit after I took the below picture). The day was to celebrate all servicemen. There were fire fighters, policemen, active and retired military and state troopers all honored for their hard work and dedication. If you are around Overland Park, Ks next year in June..  stop by for free food, ice cream, cold drinks and celebration!

Maybe next year the ultimate mascot will show up.. Willie?? Where were you??

picture borrowed from Simplify blog

One line a day.. I am going to do it! I have a few OCD issues so I may need to start doing this on January 1st because gosh for bid I have blank pages at the beginning of the book. What a great way to keep memories. You know, the memories that slip between the cracks. This book allows you to keep memories for five years and as we know a lot can happen in that amount of time. Five years… Maddie will be almost 17 and I will be almost… well who really cares how old I will be. How great would it be to sit back in five years or even a couple years into the journal and reminisce. Even if the journal says.. today I stubbed my toe and Maddie rolled her eyes at me because I was dancing in the kitchen while her friends were over. Why? Because those times will be gone, but not forgotten. If you would like to get one of these books yourself you can go HERE. And if you don’t care if there are blank pages at the beginning of the book for the next FIVE YEARS and that you will see them EVERY TIME you open the book then you can start today! If not you can jump on the train with me on January 1st. I might even start having a Saturday share day on my blog so that we can stay accountable and share a few laughs, tears and just plain everyday life stuff. Who’s comin’ with me??

Rest in Peace Uncle Lew

We buried my uncles ashes this weekend at his memorial service the day before Father's Day. There were tears, laughter and lots of love. His spirit lives on in his wife and seven children and will never be forgotten.
