Peaches and raspberries and jam.... oh my!

I went over to my friend Megan's house recently and we made jam! Why not take advantage of the super fresh produce that is super cheap at the moment. Neither of us had canned before, or at least alone before. Both of our moms had but our jobs were usually snapping the beans or cutting the tomatoes! We had a great time and man oh man is the jam good. We added a little cinnamon to the peach jam and it tastes like cobbler.. okay I must go now because there is a warm piece of toast upstairs begging for a little jam.

Round 2 is coming soon because we only have a couple jars left between the two of us!

Yes, that is the look of pride on our faces

Owen wanted to "help" as well... I can't even begin how to explain how this little boy melts my heart

Turning 12 and starting Junior High

Where in the heck have the last five years went??? Madison is turning into a young woman and her father and I watch her grow daily. Sometimes I wish we could just press the pause button for a while because in three years when she starts High School I may lose it. We are so proud of her!

Her 12th Birthday party was a lot of fun and I once again got to put on my cake making hat. This year was all about the zebra print! I even made homemade marshmallow fondant that all of the girls loved. The "regular" fondant looks great but tastes nasty so I looked through a lot of recipes until I found the right one. Oh dear lord, next year is 13! anyone have that pause button???

Please spread the word

Would you make that TWO? ( post from Two lives one journey)

Speaking to my Reece's Rainbow family, would you make it two if God asked you to? I write this post today with a heavy heart for my friend Taryn Seybold. Today is the day she withdrew from her adoption of Little Vika. The reasons are out of her control and to be honest it makes me so sad to think of the pain she must be feeling. Taryn and I have become very good friends over the past year and I know her heart; it is HUGE! I know that the love she has for Vika is huge and she wants nothing more then bring her home but God has different plans. I truly believe all of Taryn's love for Vika is not in vain. I believe her love has helped clear the path for her family to get her. Headed to region 14? Headed to Russia to save a little one already? Have room in your mini van for one more little 6 year old? Have room in your heart for the love of this Little girl? Her grant is huge her burden is little, please consider bringing her home too!

Maybe when you woke up this morning you weren't planning on adoption. Maybe it has never crossed your mind. I ask you now to help me find her family. Help my friend Taryn; help ease the pain of letting go. Vika's family is out there somewhere. She just turned 6 in May and she won't have much time left before she will be transferred. Please help me spread the word. Cross post this on your blog. She has little time. Here is what the orphanage says about Vika

"In the highest Volochek live girl – Vicky. The girl's alive, radiant blue eyes, a mischievous "tail", winning smile and open face. It is well built, childishly naive and coquettish – a child wants to love, embrace, lisping with him. Âèêóëÿ and she is always glad to new people, smiles all around, laughing loudly and zalivisto, fins and happy sitting on their hands. Wick – a lovely little girl, clockwork, energetic, affectionate and sociable, and in general, little girl, whose place at home, at the table with mom and dad, where you can happily talk down, sitting on a high chair, twist and tuck into cakes with apples …

In May 2005, in Tver maternity mom did not know that her daughter will be a bright and good, she thought that this child with Down syndrome becomes a burden and an object of ridicule, and therefore given it up …

Vike almost 3 years, her illness with proper care, attention and care can be greatly adjusted. And now it is not very different from their peers. Vikusya already said a few words, knows the names of animals and birds can show them the picture. Of course, it is not very assiduously in the classroom, her mood quickly changed. But she already knows itself to assemble and disassemble pyramids, cups-liners, understands the differences in the sizes of objects can draw straight lines and closed lines. Likes to play with the doll, feeding her, shakes and washes. Girl with easily imitate adults, able to dress with a little help, eating – not a bit careful, but herself, asking for a pot, washes her hands … She loves affection. Vika – a normal child.

SINGLE MOMS WELCOME! HIS

THIS WILL NOT BE THE LAST YOU HERE ABOUT LITTLE VIKA. I WILL ASK AND ASK AND ASK UNTIL SHE HAS A FAMILY.
